Activities to support Building Community, Arts, and Culture

And promote your organization to the public

ARTWalk Background

ARTWalk is an interactive outdoor museum that runs along University Avenue in the Neighborhood of the Arts. ARTWalk’s mission is to strengthen, connect and unify the community through increased engagement with and support of the arts.

ARTWalk is pleased to announce an invitation for entries to provide hands on, family friendly arts activities that will engage the public and encourage community at various sites along ARTWalk on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 12:00PM–4:00PM, during ARTWalk Alive!

ARTWalk Alive! has several purposes:

• To raise community awareness of ARTWalk and its mission,
• To showcase the arts, particularly performance art,
• To build community among diverse groups and throughout the neighborhood.
• To raise awareness of the high concentration of arts & cultural assets in the Rochester area by providing a vehicle for them to be present at ARTWalk Alive! for all attendees to experience.
• To have an arts festival focusing on participation and accessibility of in the community, focused on the experience rather than the commerce of art.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Arts and Cultural organizations, non-profit organizations, and all other individuals, groups, clubs, or organizations wishing to have a presence at ARTWalks' premier event by providing a free interactive arts activity.

CRITERIA

All entries must:

Support Building Community, Arts and Culture

Be supervised, and safe for all ages

Be a family-oriented activity

Focus on the arts, and be appealing to the senses Selling of products of any kind is prohibited during this event. Applications are accepted or denied by the discretion of the committee. Our committee retains the right to turn down any application for any reason, or for no reason.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINE

ARTWalk Alive! ENTRIES should be received by June 4, 2008 to allow for review, processing and
questions. Late entries may be considered at the discretion of the committee.

All entrants must submit the following items:

1. A short description of your proposed interactivity and who will supervise it,
2. Completed application (final page of this document),
3. Name of organization for program notes and/or publicity,
4. A list of equipment/materials you will provide and use during this event, including tools, toys, science materials, animals, instruments, etc.
5. a self-addressed, postage paid package if return of submitted material is requested.
6. A 5-10 word description of your inter-activity, and the complete proper name you wish for attribution
7. OPTIONAL INFORMATION: attach a list of entrant(s) including age(s) and hometown(s) if you would like to be considered for press interviews.

ARTWalk does not assume responsibility for damage to or loss of any material submitted for this project.

ARTWalk takes no responsibility and holds no liability for injury, damage or loss of property to any persons during these performance times and events.

ARCHIVAL DISCLOSURE

ARTWalk will retain the right to use photographs or videotaped images of performers and artists rehearsing or in performance for publicity and other non-commercial purposes.
