(April 22, 2005) — ARTWalk, an outdoor art trail that connects
Rochester arts and cultural institutions along University Avenue, is
seeking submissions for several upcoming summer events in the city's
Neighborhood of the Arts.
Public informational meetings for prospective entrants will be
at 7 p.m. Wednesday and June 1 at Writers and Books, 740 University Ave.
By
attending either meeting, musicians, dancers, poets, storytellers and
visual artists can learn about participating in Music on the Block (a
summer series on Saturdays), Muse-a-Thon (a fundraising walk for
ARTWalk on June 11) and ARTWalk Alive! (an annual arts celebration on
Sept. 18).
Residents of the Greater Rochester eight-county region (Monroe,
Wayne, Livingston, Ontario, Wyoming, Genesee, Yates and Orleans) are
eligible to participate. Applications for these events can be obtained
by visiting ARTWalk's Web site at www.rochesterARTWalk.org,
the South East Area Coalition office (1045 S. Clinton Ave.) or at the
Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester (277 N. Goodman St.).
Entries must be received by 4 p.m. May 13 for Music on the Block and
Muse-a-Thon; they must be received by 4 p.m. June 17 for ARTWalk Alive!
