ARTWalk Alive! Deadline for T-Shirt and Performer applications is this Friday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- The deadline for artist and performer applications is fast approaching for ARTWalk Alive! ARTWalk Alive! will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2004. Competitions are open to all residents of the eight-county Greater Rochester Area. The deadline is this Friday, June 18th at 4 pm.

Individual artists, graphic artists, dancers, musicians, dance companies, poets, music ensembles and collaborations are all invited to enter. Twenty (20) performances will take place at different sites on University Avenue as part of the fourth annual ARTWalk celebration.
This year’s events include five areas to which artists can apply: Music (Music on the Block), Spoken Word (Word on the Street), Visual Arts (Artist at Work), and Poster and T-Shirt Art (New Category), Dance (Dances on the Avenue).
A group of independent jurors, made up of local residents, business owners and arts professionals will review submissions and select performers. All submissions must be received by Friday, June 18, 2004. Please note that the T-Shirt and poster deadline has been extended from the original May 28, 2004 deadline to this Friday. Each applicant selected to perform will receive an honorarium thanks to a “Culture Builds Communities” grant from the Arts and Cultural Council.

The deadline for the $10,000 ABSC sculpture open call remains July 9, 2004.
